Quiet Hours
Control when SpotPatrol sends you notifications with Quiet Hours, ensuring you're not disturbed during sleeping, meetings, or focused work periods.
How Quiet Hours Work
Quiet Hours suppress notification delivery during specified times while appointment monitoring continues 24/7. Unlike Time Filters which control which appointments you're notified about, Quiet Hours controls whether those notifications are delivered.
Key Features:
- Set multiple quiet periods throughout the day for maximum flexibility
- Suppresses delivery during your quiet periods using your chosen timezone
- Choose which methods to pause for each period: Email, SMS, or both
- Appointments found during quiet hours appear in your Notice Log
- Can span midnight (e.g., 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM)
Setting Up Quiet Hours
- Go to your Dashboard Notice Quiet Hours section
- Click Add (first time) or Edit (to modify)
- Configure your timezone (applies to all quiet periods)
- Add one or more quiet periods:
- Start/End Time: Your quiet period (e.g., 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM)
- Contact Types: SMS, Email, or both (must select at least one)
- Add additional periods as needed using Add Range
Multiple Quiet Periods
Create multiple quiet periods for complex schedules:
- Sleep + Meetings: 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM for sleep, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM for daily meetings
- Work Focus: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM to minimize disruptions
- Different Contact Types: SMS quiet during business hours, both SMS and Email quiet overnight
- Weekend Schedule: Different quiet periods for weekdays vs weekends
Each quiet period can have different contact type settings, giving you complete control over when and how you receive notifications.
Trial vs Standard Service
- Trial: Can configure settings, but feature remains inactive until upgrade to Standard
- Standard: Quiet Hours are fully active immediately
Managing Multiple Ranges
When setting up multiple quiet periods:
- Each range can have different contact type settings
- Ranges are automatically sorted by time for easy viewing
- Overlapping ranges are allowed (useful for different contact types)
- Remove ranges individually or clear all at once
Quiet Hours vs Time Filters
- Time Filters: "Only notify me about evening appointments" (controls WHICH)
- Quiet Hours: "Don't send me anything between 10 PM - 8 AM" (controls IF)
Both work together: Time Filters determine if an appointment qualifies, then Quiet Hours determine whether to deliver that notification.
- Time Filters - Control which appointment times trigger notifications
- Date Range Filters - Control which dates you want to monitor
- Too Many Notifications - Troubleshoot notification volume
- Notification Methods - Overview of all notification types
